“This is Mexico” he bellowed before breaking into a belly aching laugh that came from his toes. He being Alberta, the owner of Hotel Jade where I was staying. Some places are good for the heart and this was one of them. I came to the town of Ceracahui for 1 night and stayed far longer.
Ceracahui is a small town tinkering with tourism whilst getting on with their real life. There are only a handful of hotels and places to eat, scant phone reception, no atms or wifi. Was good to be offline for a while, the twitching stopped after the second day!
This was my first stop on the train and I was staying here as a base for some hikes which were great and I’ll put together a post on those too, in the meantime here are some pictures of the town itself and some of the kids who found me amusing as I tried to communicate in pitiful Spanish with them.

Mexico… One of my ‘absolutely must visit’ place! Soo exotic!
And it deserves to be on the must visit list. It’s my first time here and I am loving it. Thanks for stopping by my blog. It has given me the chance to check out yours too 🙂 Happy travels
