One of the more interesting museums I went to in Berlin was the DDR Museum. It’s very interactive and makes it very easy to imagine and appreciate what everyday life might have been like in former East Germany.
Something I read there was about the construction of high rise apartment blocks in communist Germany. Homogeneous blocks to assist in supporting a classless society. It prompted me to look up from the streets and take in the floors above me. Now a united Berlin, with many traces of the past remaining.
