It’s time to say farewell to Yosemite. I will definitely be back at some other stage as I only got a glimpse of the place and next time I will be camping for sure. Really enjoyed the last few days and did some some good hikes.
The first being the Mist Trail to Nevada Falls. The waterfalls are at their most impressive in Spring, after the snow melts, so I didn’t see them at their most powerful. Something that is a constant however is the trail and number of steps to the top. It was quite steep in parts for unfit me. My slow pace however gave me a chance to chat to many on the way up. Was even offered a glass of wine at one point!
My favourite trail, however as the Four Mile Trail that takes you to Glacier Point at 7,214 feet (2,199 m). Demanding at times but the view was worth it at the top to look over Yosemite Valley and Half Dome. During the warmer months it is possible to drive to this view point but that road is currently closed for the winter, so having just a few other hikers to enjoy it with made it all the sweeter.
