Have been spending some time in Canterbury this week.
A great mixture of friendly people and small towns surrounded by rolling fields and rivers with some great trails to explore. One of them was the Allan’s Track in Peel Forest near Mt Somers. After the stormy weather parts of the trail were quite mucky and on some of the downhill parts I was lucky not to be coming down on my arse.
A fun afternoon clamoring over tree stumps and splashing about in the muck. We bumped into some other walkers “How did you find this God foresaken place?” one asked. The truth was we only ended up there as the weather was bad elsewhere, goes to show it always works out for the best 🙂
