Getting Restarted

The plan for the next few weeks is to drive my car back to Sydney from the west coast.

I got to Perth a few days ago and picked up the car, which was well looked after in my absence, so  all it needs is petrol and will be good to go. I on the other hand, seemed to slow down when I got off the plane! Instead of getting on the road I have had a few days of short walks and long lunches in between sorting out the remaining bits and pieces for the trip. I headed south along the coast for a few days to sort out the essentials.

1. Food – Stocked up at the Farmers Market in Busselton. Have a boot full of great tasting fruit and veggies and way too many handmade chocolate truffles.

The Hayshed Winery

2. Hydration.

Visited a few of my favourite vineyards in Margaret River and am suitably stocked up for the journey.

Yes, I will be travelling with several litres of water as well.

3. Getting energised for the trip

I was lucky enough to get a recommendation to visit Wilyabrup Cliffs. These are close to Margaret River and popular with rock climbers. There was only one solitary climber there this particular morning doing his thing. Although hidden away the cliffs are easy to access, a short 1km stroll through farm and then some scrub before you reach the ocean.  A storm had come through the night before, so the water was pretty choppy and LOUD. The energy in the waves was invigorating.

Now I am recharged and ready for roadtrippin!
