Southern Forests

Growing up in Ireland, season change is more pronounced that I have grown used to in Sydney more recently. Especially for Autumn & Winter. So it was great to spend some time in the woods around Pemberton. After the recent wet weather, it was less of the crack of a twig underfoot and more of a slide in the muck downhill at some points. My balance needs some work. Forests of karri trees with great trails that intersect with the Bibbulmun Track.  Was so happy to be able to get out and about for some hiking  in the fresh air. Everything was green and glistening. Not only are the hiking & biking trails great here  but so is the local produce and wineries – yum yum. So topping off  the day tramping around the forest was finding a pub with a roaring fire and settling in for the evening. Venison shanks and a glass of red? Yes please. Guess I’ll be needing more walking………….
