Bungled at the Bungles

Close up and personal of the beehiveSo I went along to see the Bungle Bungles or Purnululu National Park.

Purnululu is the name given to the sandstone area of the Bungle Bungle Range by the Kija Aboriginal  people. The name means sandstone. It was easily one of the most spectacular and memorable places on the trip so far. In this case the road was too rough for my car to get in, so I joined a tour and fortunately had time for a quick helicopter flight as well. Such a super place, really do recommend it.  The tour was lead by a man not shy of options called Radar. Funny guy. His talk covered a while range of topics from the live export of animals from Australia to German backpackers and somewhere in-between he told us about the Bungle Bungles.  Admittedly I am not a fan of tours, but in this case it was great fun and I really enjoyed it. What’s not to like about a place as beautiful and interesting as this.

I wont labour the history and geology instead here’s a link:https://www2.dec.wa.gov.au/component/option,com_hotproperty/task,view/id,39/Itemid,755
